FA-LA-LA-LA -OUCH!!!!!
Earlier today, after I scrubbed the house top to bottom, some of my expected Thanksgiving guests (they now total - gasp - 46) called to tell me what they are bringing or what time they're coming, and in the course of the conversations, asked if I would have the house decorated for Christmas. I said, "Nope! I ALWAYS do that the day AFTER Thanksgiving." A couple of them said, "Oh." as though they were disappointed. I thought about it and realized almost everyone who's coming either HAS no family or will be far FROM their families both now AND for Christmas. Sigh. Never let it be said that I intentionally disappoint anyone. LOL! Three guesses what I just did these past 3 hours. Yeppers. But HOLY HOLIDAYS, Batman! HOW did all that CHRISTMAS stuff get in my CLOSET? Honestly, it seemed I'd never get it all into the front rooms to sort and distribute. I still have to put my gingerbread collection out tomorrow EARLY (pre-dawn) but tho' I have a TON of gingy things, I know where they all go so it SHOULD be easy enough. Then I need to clear my 4 glass front kitchen cabinets of the everyday ware and put in my Christmas dishes. Finally, while my housemate does his ONE decorating task - putting up the tree - I'll do some more cooking with the senior ladies who insisted they'd come over and 'help' me bake then spend the night. (LOL! The lil' stinkers.) Once the tree is up and the lights on it, the ladies and I can decorate it. I think that will be a good way for the three NEWLY ADOPTED ladies to get better acquainted with us. Then - ta-da! - it'll be FINISHED! The pictures above are from LAST year, by the way. It's just a tiny bit of the kitchen stuff. Have I mentioned I LOVE all things Christmas? Have I ALSO mentioned this old Comanche is sooooo exhausted? I think it's time to rest a bit before someone talks me into decorating for Easter! HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ONE AND ALL! (Feels SO odd having Christmas stuff out already!)
