When I am queen, I fully intend to banish the entire month of May from my calendar! I dislike that month sooooo much, and I swear it dislikes ME even MORE. Of course, the truth is, if I were Queen, I'd just abolish ALL the hot months! UGH! But this post isn't ABOUT May. It's about the 1st of June, and an END to May's hatefulness. Despite the fact that this day is the 'official' start to hurricane season, it's begun REALLY cool! (I meant 'cool' as awesome, but actually, though its TEMPERATURE-hot, it IS way less humid today! WOOOOHOOOO!) Anyway ... my June 1st morning began when my housemate and I had our first weigh-in since the initial one on May 7th. Ray started at 192.5 lbs. Today he weighed in at 182.5! TEN POUNDS! Awesome! His ideal weight is 165-170 so he's WELL on his way! As for me, if you will notice my Taming the Elephant entry at the top of my righthand sidebar, you will see THIS old girl has dropped a cool 16 pounds! My first 'goal' is 240. Four pounds away. Then 220, 200, and 180. I will be HAPPY at 200. But I'd LOVE to be 180 or even less if possible. So, as you can see, the month was ALREADY starting well! THEN the MAIL arrived. I received a VERY unexpected gifty box from a VERY special friend, Pam Davis. You may remember sometime back we did a swap and she sent me a MARVELOUS doll I named Fern, after a music teacher I loved! But this box was NOT a swap. I had NO IDEA she'd sent me something although I must say, it's just LIKE her to do something so amazing! Allow me to show you what she made me:
Can you BELIEVE this? First of all, I am STILL just mesmerized by the detail in EVERYTHING SHE CREATES! Even her GIFT TAGS are exquisite. Check out the quilted piece 'Pixie' is sitting on. She made & sent me THAT as well! What she DOESN'T know - Pammy, I mean - is that my first grade teacher, Mrs. Barry, CALLED me Pixie because of my tendency to flitter away from people. She meant it lovingly and kindly and I secretly LOVED it! And I have named the larger doll June Tah'-hah-net', Comanche for June - She Laughs, because she SO MUCH looks as though she's trying to hold back laughter AND she gave me a wonderful beginning to June plus a way to wash off May. Isn't she gorgeous? Look at her lovely feet! And her HANDS with those beautiful nails! ALSO THOSE EYELASHES! OMG! How'd she DO that? I used to WANT to make pretty dolls but realized I didn't have that gift in me. Pammy DOES! I intend to find the PERFECT place for both my beauties, AND the quilted piece! But for now I will stop posting and go write a BIG ol' THANK YOU to my friend who made June begin with smiles!

CONGRATULATIONS! That is awesome and makes me want to visit you in hot ole Texas for some mental support with my food change. Oh I changed alright ( for a few days ), then it's back to adding stuff I don't need to eat. Oh well, I shall keep trying and persevere! Lol! Yes, I am happy that the ladies did just what I planned! Made smiles ... lots of smiles on your beautiful face! Now no more frowns....hugzzzzzzzzzz!
