RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY (OR, AT LEAST DON'T COME IF YOU HAVE TO BRING STORMS, TOO!)
Yeppers. It's gonna be another rainy-a** week. We have a THEME going on here in Houston, folks. FEAST OR FAMINE. Uh-huh! LAST year we were in the worst drought conditions we've seen in AGES. Almost every single DAY brought 100-plus degree temps & dry, dry, dry air. Grass rarely-if-ever needed CUTTING 'cause it just didn't GROW! Trees which had been around for YEARS crumbled. WE sweltered. We had to conserve water. We ran the heck out of our a/c units. Oh - and did I say we SWELTERED? THIS summer we are no longer IN the drought (thank goodness) but we are 'feasting' on RAIN. Frankly, I love a good, soaking shower. It's wonderful for our earth, and it cools everything beautifully. The a/c doesn't run as much, and everyone is happy. What I'm NOT happy with is this: in HOUSTON, we almost NEVER get 'just' a lovely shower. Nope. (Remember our THEME - repeat after me - Feast or Famine. Excellent! A+!!!) With the rain (sometimes even without it) we get THUNDERSTORMS. I don't LIKE thunderstorms. Or high winds. We live in an area with SOOOOO many trees, & those trees are WEAK from - yep, you guessed it - last year's severe drought. They fall. Easily. One BIG tree smack in the middle of our lil' front yard had a big old limb come down - SNAP!!! - during a MINOR wind event in April. It took 2 people to move it. If that entire big, honkin' tree were to come down & fall toward our house, we'd have a freakin' MESS. So, basically my thoughts on rain-which-in-Houston-equals-storms are summed up THIS way: UGH! And WHY, you may wonder (if you are even still READING this grump fest) am I telling you all this (besides the fact that I need to tell SOMEONE how annoyed I am & YOU GOT LUCKY - I CHOSE YOU!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!) Nawwwww! It's because if I don't blog or comment on YOUR blogs or answer your emails for a bit, you'll know why. Blame it on HOUSTON. Feast or Famine - that's NOT nice!!!! (But if YOU are still reading this nonsense, YOU are!!! Nice, I mean!)

We have the complete opposite here...which is weird since I'm in Canada and our weather likes to play nice in the summer. But it's been ridiculously hot. Last night we went to a rib festival and the temperature was 93 but with all the humidity it "felt like" 115. OMG I had swoobs...sweaty boobs.
We've only had 2 good rain storms and the one took half of our shingles off! EEks!
Well, I have come to the conclusion that I really prefer the cooler areas ... wherever that is ... Tee hee hee hee...You are so funny, I know you are serious, but hey I know that you have to unload cuz it's the thing to do so you don't get all hot under the collar. Yep, you see what I did there, snicker (!) hot under the collar ROFL! My kids say I am NOT FUNNY, but I know you understand this sort "sad" attempts at humor!!!! I LOVE YOOU!!!
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((KAI)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
WHAT?! I LOVE the sound of thunder..lol! The sound of trees cracking down in front of your house though-not so much! Hang in there and start crafting a boat- just in case :)
